Dear Families,
Happy Sunny Sunday! Believe it or not, we've made it to the last week of school. It will be a busy and fun one. The week will go something like this: We'll be finishing up a few academic studies on Monday and Tuesday as we finish reading Maniac Magee and practice a few more coordinate graphs. We'll be watching the movie Gandhi this week as a follow up to our studies of revolutions/independence movements in other parts of the world. On Tuesday afternoon, from 2:40 to 3:00, we'll be holding a small 5th grade graduation ceremony outside the classrooms. Parents are welcome to join us. Wednesday is Field Day from 10am - 1pm. Students have free dress. They should wear clothing appropriate to play outside for the day. Closed-toed shoes are required. Wednesday will be full school day - students are dismissed at 3:10. Thursday is the last day of school. There will be an all-school assembly in the morning from 8:10 to 8:45. Parents are also welcome to attend. Thursday is a uniform day, but if students purchased the new ISM t-shirt, they can wear it on Thursday. Dismissal will be at 12:55. Yearbooks will be given out this week. I'll pass out the yearbooks as soon as they arrive to those that purchased or earned one. Last, thank you all for a great year with your child. This class have been super enthusiastic inquirers and fun to be with. I wish them all the very best for each of their coming years. Thank you, parents, for all your support throughout the year in all the many ways you have either helped the school, the class, or your child. You make a world of difference. Best wishes for a happy, fun and safe summer! Ms. Welsh

AuthorThis is my tenth year at ISM and fifth year teaching 5th grade. I enjoy working with young people and being with my family. I love being outdoors in nature, on or in the ocean. I look for ways to continue learning and growing. Archives
